06 Mar Weather Update – No Cyclone Watch Current ref. Cyclone Iris
Whitsunday Pet Resort (WPR) is NOT currently subject to a Cyclone Watch, due to the fact that Cyclone IRIS (Cat 1) is NOT expected to cross the coast. A severe weather warning is in place, with heavy rains and winds expected; although reports indicate that bulk of the rain is expected to fall further south. Please refer to www.bom.gov.au for updates. WPR’s prevention, preparation and response for natural disaster events is based in part on the Whitsunday Region Emergency Action Guide 2017-2019 edition. Whitsunday Regional Council advises we are located in a DESIGNATED WHITE ZONE – i.e. “Extremely minor risk or no risk of inundation or isolation from a cyclone storm tide”. Our action plan/s are also based on many years of practical experience and formal training. Relevant updates will ONLY occur on this website and NOT our facebook page. Currently all pets are well, fed and tucked in for the evening 🙂 All wellbeing and welfare checks on your VIP’s should also be via email and not on our FB page. We also thank you for your patience at this time. Please drive carefully.
